NVIDIA Driver issues with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Do not update  NVIDIA current driver with Ubuntu 12.04 . I was using a monitor that supports 1920×1080 resolution. However after I Update the NVIDIA driver ( Installed NVIDIA X server settings ), the default resolution became 800×600 and no other options to change. If you get into this use the following commands to reinstate

sudo apt-get remove –purge nvidia-*
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf
echo ‘nouveau’ | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
